Robert Falvey is the General Counsel for Falvey. Responsible for managing the Legal Department and overseeing a staff of two attorneys and a legal intern. In addition, Robert is responsible for providing legal analysis on all elements of claims, recoveries, and loss prevention operations, and also performs all services, acts, or things necessary or advisable to conduct the business of the Company and to assist underwriters in their daily operations. In addition, Robert manages and adjusts high-value or complex cargo and yacht insurance claims that exceed the Company’s in-house settling authority. Preparing such claims for review and agreement by Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London.

He is a licensed attorney in the state of Rhode Island. Where he is admitted as a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the State of Rhode Island and is also admitted to practice as an Attorney in the United States District Court, District of Rhode Island.  Robert holds an associate degree in marine insurance management and an Associate in Claims designation. He is also a licensed USCG Captain of uninspected passenger vessels.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, and a Doctorate of Laws degree from Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, RI where he is an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching courses in Marine Salvage and Marine Insurance.
