Robert Falvey
Robert Falvey currently serves on the Board of Directors for Falvey Insurance Group, following his retirement after 26 years as the company’s General Counsel. In that role, he built and led Falvey’s legal department and internship program, providing trusted counsel across underwriting, loss prevention, recoveries, and regulatory matters. Robert was a key advisor to Falvey’s leadership and underwriters, earning respect not only for his legal expertise but also for his integrity, mentorship, and vision.
Robert’s influence extends well beyond Falvey. As an Adjunct Professor of Law at Roger Williams University School of Law, he has educated and mentored countless legal professionals, many of whom now serve across the insurance and maritime industries. He is also a longtime and respected member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, contributing thought leadership to one of the most specialized legal communities in the country.
He is a licensed attorney in the state of Rhode Island. Where he is admitted as a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the State of Rhode Island and is also admitted to practice as an Attorney in the United States District Court, District of Rhode Island. Robert holds an associate degree in marine insurance management and an Associate in Claims designation. He is also a licensed USCG Captain of uninspected passenger vessels.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI, and a Doctorate of Laws degree from Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, RI where he is an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching courses in Marine Salvage and Marine Insurance.
