Falvey Insurance Group Management Attends Workplace Relationships Training Day

12/06/2018

Harassment and bullying are hot topics which are unfortunately trending in the workplace. As a proactive exercise, Falvey Insurance Group management staff attended “Managers Training Day” in Warwick, RI on June 6, 2018. The event was a first for the organization, and the purpose of the training was to educate all managers on proper etiquette and safety in workplace relationships.

Falvey partnered with Paychex, who offer Payroll and HR Solutions, to host the training. Melissa Wheeler, PHSR HR Consultant, lead the sessions and discussions throughout the day. The agenda included the following topics:

  • Non-Harassment Training for Supervisors & Managers – a session detailing the differences between and ways to prevent discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment.
  • Preventing Bullying & Violence In The Workplace – defining and outlining threats to an organization caused by bullying and workplace violence.
  • Effectively Managing Employees – comparing management styles and best practices for effectively communicating with employees.
  • Generational Differences In The Workplace – comparing and contrasting Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen-Xers, and Millennials, and their workplace values.

After the success of the first Managers Training Day, Falvey hopes to host additional events related to HR compliance topics to maintain a respectful culture where employees continue to feel valued, comfortable and safe.
