To start the new year, we’re announcing some exciting leadership changes at Falvey Insurance Group.
After many years of exemplary work, Ted O’Sullivan, senior vice president of Falvey Risk Solutions, is retiring and Eric Newman, currently vice president of loss prevention, has been promoted to the SVP role.
Ted is a well-respected leader at Falvey who supervised Falvey Risk Solution’s delivery of value-driven services for our high technology, life science, and yacht clients, including proactive loss prevention services, strategic claims processing, and aggressive recovery measures. His extensive experience in the analysis of incremental business value through technology enablement has been critical to the success of our clients.
Before joining Falvey, Ted was a Director of Strategic Services at i2 Technologies, leading several strategic opportunity assessment engagements for some of the world’s leading telecommunications corporations. He spent nearly 15 years in leadership positions in the telecommunications industry, and holds a BSBA from Georgetown University and MBA from Harvard Business School. He closes out his career after 15 years of service to Falvey.
Eric Newman will be stepping into Ted’s role with over 10 years of proven success as a leader and manager at Falvey. Eric has been directly responsible for managing the loss prevention services offered to our clients. This consists of developing risk mitigation strategies and consultative service in all facets of supply chain management and distribution, including development and implementation of packing, shipping, and storage procedures, and protocols that are aligned with industry best practices.
Eric joined Falvey in 2007, but his experience in the marine cargo industry extends much further back. A graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a BA in Marine Transportation, Eric sailed as a USCG licensed merchant marine officer aboard ocean-going commercial cargo vessels. In 2003, Eric started Newman Marine, Inc., an independent marine risk management company that provided loss prevention and risk management consultation to insurance companies, as well as pharmaceutical and high technology manufacturing companies.
Eric’s background and expertise makes him perfectly suited to be Senior Vice Rresident of Falvey Risk Solutions—a role he’s excited to take on.
Mike Falvey, president of Falvey Insurance Group, emphasizes that Falvey’s focus will remains on its customers and providing personal, industry-leading service as the team continues to grow and evolve:
“Everyone at Falvey Insurance Group thanks Ted for his dedication and service over the years, and wishes him the best in his retirement. We are looking forward to Eric Newman taking over as Vice President and continuing to improve our Loss Prevention and Claims Handling processes.”
