Central to the culture at Falvey Insurance Group is the principle of giving back. We are a family company and truly believe in serving not only our customers, but our community.
Throughout the year, we participate in various philanthropic activities. Our most recent was a partnership with North Kingstown School Department on the “Blessings in a Backpack” program. This national program is 100% funded by donations, supplying weekend meals to students who experience food insecurity at home.
The North Kingstown chapter of Blessings in a Backpack currently serves nearly 180 elementary and middle school students, providing two breakfasts, two lunches or dinners, and two snacks to each student, every weekend. Falvey was proud to be part of this program and support the considerable efforts of the North Kingstown School Department.
Cindy Bowe, North Kingstown School District Coordinator, says: “We are so appreciative of the support we received from the employees of Falvey. They did it all—made food donations, and packed and delivered the bags to all North Kingstown schools. Unfortunately, food insecurity exists here in North Kingstown and Falvey volunteers helped fill the bellies of students experiencing this in their homes.”
Falvey collected food and monetary donations from our employees throughout the month of May, with team members from across the company contributing. Each week, different groups of four to five volunteers packed and delivered over 100 meal bags to students. About 19 team members volunteered and each related how positive the experience was.
