For this team spotlight, we’re featuring a member of our finance department. Meet Edgar Carrera, a man with Central American roots and a talent for numbers.
Edgar joined Falvey in 2012 right out of college. He came on board as a staff accountant, focusing on financial reporting and analysis. Edgar’s role also involves receiving, processing, and recording payments for Falvey All-Risk Shippers Interest Insurance, as well as handling credit card payables for Falvey Insurance Group. Additionally, he processes and submits monthly claims bordereaux reports to London and Navigators.
“One of the things I most appreciate about Falvey is the company’s annual events,” says Edgar. “They foster cooperation between departments and help you get to know your coworkers. I also like that our finance department is very close and everyone is always willing to help each other out.”
Edgar was born in Guatemala and moved to the U.S. in 1997. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Professional Accountancy from Rhode Island College (RIC). Outside of work, Edgar loves going to the movies and enjoys traveling. His favorite trip to date was visiting the Mayan ruins in Guatemala.
